What a stunning autumn style shoot! Jenny Bedard Photography shared with us this gorgeous woodsy "Fairy Tale in the Woods" session all the way from Minnesota. The beautiful, sophisticated florals and refreshing colors caught our eye, and we just had to share. We are in love with the color palette and inspiration for a fall wedding!

Another lovely Katie Lamb Photography wedding to show you today. The wedding of Will + Justi was a reflection of them, says their photographer. The couple got married in the church that Justi grew up in then had a noon reception in their friend's backyard, on the lake. The beloved Hamburger Man catered the reception and everyone enjoyed an afternoon outside under the big Texas sky. What we love most about this wedding are all those gorgeous handmade details! We love a good DIY wedding - with ideas brides can actually use. Get all the deets below (and get that Pin button ready!)

Every once and awhile, we like to share an out of state wedding on the blog that has caught our attention. La Vie le Gage Couture Wedding Planning sent us this rustic ranch wedding, detailing their vision for it (and refers us to where they found each element, below!) The wedding took place at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch in beautiful Larkspur, Colorado. The bride, Jenna, wanted the wedding to represent the "love of nature's beautiful colors and textures" with a modern twist, keeping with traditions. The couple, along with their wedding planner, decided on a color palette of Amazon Jungle, Dill, Mustard Seed, Walnut Bark, and Elegant Lace - all colors of an aspen forest in autumn.

La Vie le Gage describes the details and style of the wedding:

"The Bridesmaid dresses reflected the aspen leaf with the golden yellow color, Snap Dragon, from the Dessy Collection.  The groomsmen wore classic tuxes with just a hint of a custom camouflage fabric in the handkerchief pocket, which brought the color palette out with style!
The decor included a combination of rustic and elegant elements that included silver, crystal, glass, fabric, wood, candles, unique props and much more to convey the warmth of both styles. Jenna also incorporated some DIY projects to reflect her personal touch - using dark green river rock as place cards and designing the candy table for her guests."

We personally love the wooden touches and the oversized centerpieces. Yellow is a lovely color choice for a rustic/woodlands style wedding - whether it's in the fall, spring or summer. Props to the photog, Kim Nodurft Photography, for the lovely images!

Today's Friday Favorites post is all about color! Spring is one of my favorite seasons for many reasons - the beautiful, bright-colored flowers that pop up everywhere, the busy wedding planning season (which means a busy season for us!) and the fact that my birthday falls in the middle of this wonderful season.

Color can scare many brides. The thought of having more than one or two colors in your wedding may seem like a reach out of your comfort zone. Meet one couple who dared to break all the wedding color rules and incorporated their own offbeat taste and colorful personality into every aspect of their wedding. Then, see our ideas for adding a little color to your big day (without the panic attack!)

Handmade, Colorful Wedding by Cory Ryan Photography

The handmade wedding of Joelle + J in Bee Cave, Texas was truly unique, according to their photographer, Cory Ryan
"Being invited to shoot a wedding for these two uber creative pump project artists was quite an honor. The groom hand made boutonnieres for himself and the groomsmen - made with a branch, succulent air plant and buttons in shades of opalescent pink and purple. The bride wore a lovely and classic strapless dress delicately ornamented with just a touch of sequenced flowers and leaves. For the ceremony, Joelle constructed a hanging wall of multi-colored yarn poms that were so original and provided a perfect photo backdrop."

"Brightly colored lanterns set the stage for the venue. After the ceremony, kids were invited to have fun at the arts and crafts table. The couple constructed the single most amazing centerpieces I may have ever seen. Spray-painted horses and dinosaurs in pastel candy colors were surrounded with table numbers and frames with nested birds atop and both real and fake pom flowers inter dispensed."

Happy St. Patty's Day weekend! Before we share our green wedding ideas with you, which we call our "Lucky in Love" inspiration board, we just had to post this lovely outdoor engagement session with everyone. Our Lucky in Love inspiration board features our green wedding favorites, in honor of St. Patrick's Day. We just love green wedding flowers and with a green theme, there are so many floral choices. Happy Friday! Woodlands Bride has been very busy this week getting ready for the Dream Weddings Bridal Show on Sunday. But, we're never too busy to put together some Friday Favorites to jump start your wedding planning weekend.
I love everything about living in The Woodlands and one thing I never tire of seeing is the beautiful landscape. If I could do my wedding over again, which I dream about doing almost every day, I would most definitely take my engagement photos outside, in the middle of nature, maybe under a big tree or surrounded by natural elements. So naturally, I fell in love with the local engagement session of Chelsea + Kevin, taken by Katie Lamb Photography and captured in a mossy, wooded area just outside of Houston. And that gorgeous sunlight streaming through the trees... Wooded Bliss. Props to the photog for these beautiful pieces of art!
If this nature-inspired shoot makes you smile like it does us, here's some more wedding inspiration to smile about. You can create your whole wedding around the "Natural Elements" theme. Here's an inspiration board of our favorite finds to get you started + where to find each one.

Photo via Pantone
When Pantone released their color forecast for Spring 2013, we were completely inspired by the bright, refreshing color choices and couldn't wait to put the colors together and create unexpected combinations. Which is exactly what we did - and we want to share with you our new color crush for weddings in 2013: Grayed Jade + African Violet.
Picture
Photo via My Wedding Reception Ideas
The wedding color combo of jade + violet is soft and feminine. Add some Emerald green, Pantone's Color of the Year 2013, mint green or shades of lime green which is also in the Spring 2013 color forecast. Incorporating purple hues into garden green floral creates a breathtaking arrangement. Add the dusty miller in your wedding floral for extra loveliness. Could you imagine how gorgeous a garden wedding with these colors would be? Check out the color inspiration board we created, print it out (double-click on the photo) and take it with you to plan your violet + jade wedding. Then, share your pretty wedding with Woodlands Bride!
Leave it to Vera to create a breathtaking Grayed Jade wedding gown! What do you think of this color combo? What other Pantone 2013 color combinations are you loving? Let us know in the comment section!

The Woodlands has had gloomy and rainy weather the past few days. But with the rain, comes rainbows and today's post is that rainbow. This bright and colorful wedding was planned by a bride that had no fear of the color wheel and captured by Just Love Me Photography + Design. I think it is electric and I absolutely love it.

The keys to a memorable wedding are a fantastic venue, gorgeous flowers and tons of personalized details. This real wedding embodies all of those and is a beautiful inspiration for a Spring wedding. I love the romantic pink and yellow color scheme with pops of oranges, greens, and turquoise, the succulent favors, and adorable + friendly ring bearer.

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend! Friday, I mentioned that Pantone had announced Emerald so the whole world is channeling the color green right now. So, I think it is only fitting that today we feature this beautiful inspiration board filled with wonderfully soothing shades of green. Green represents harmony and renewal which is fitting for a wedding, don't you think?
