Meet Kristin Van Hauen
, owner and designer of Treasured Spaces.
When I met Kristin at a networking luncheon, I immediately knew she had tons of knowledge to share with you! I couldn't wait to have her on the blog. Today, she is letting us take a sneak peek at some of her favorite pins and the things that are inspiring her this Fall season. I will let her tell you about the things she is loving for Fall weddings.
When you think fall, most of the time the color orange comes to mind. For me though it is all the rich jewel tones that makes for a perfect color palette for a fall wedding.
Pins Left to Right + Top to Bottom:
Your dream of walking down the aisle has come true, have fun with the journey. Covered with the colors of fall makes for a beautiful background for you to begin your journey as husband and wife.
A Sweet Slice:
This cake is just breathtaking. The colors give you the feel for fall with the elegance. It would be simple to incorporate with your colors just by changing the ribbons to your colors. What a great way to bring in the colors subtly.
What a great spot for the ceremony or the pictures, think of your natural surroundings and the beauty that nature gives us when planning for your special day.
Have fun with fall flowers in your wedding. Fall is that time when Mother Nature gives us one last display of beauty before resting until spring. Take advantage of this sentiment~ and nature's palette of deep reds and oranges~ it makes for a gorgeous wedding.
The Perfect Pear:
I love the idea of using fruit and natural elements. An idea for these wonderfully adorned pears would be to place them on your plates with the place card next to them, or to intersperse them into the table décor and candles.
Even S'more to Love:
Fall for me means cooler weather, fires and snuggling. What a better gift for your guests then their own S’more kit. Another idea would be to have a S’more bar and fire pit at your reception. Photo by Britt Rene Photo
: Lighting is key to the romantic feel, it just gives a warmth to the reception and who doesn’t love the glow of soft lights and candles. Your guests will be in awe of their surroundings and how you thought of everything.
Fit for a Feast:
Both of these tables are just fantastic. Having a rustic outdoor reception, bring some lace to the party and remember to play up the shorter days with candlelight. The jewel tones of the purple and the pops of orange are sure to keep your guests visiting and dancing well into the night.

We have had the opportunity to share many gorgeous weddings from the talented team at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center
, but this one is nothing short of swoonworthy. The classically elegant florals brimming with hydrangeas, the bright blue bridesmaids - and then to top it all off with dueling pianists? We love it! Best wishes Ashley + Birkir!

Bet you have never looked at a raw piece of Salmon and thought of it as inspiration for your wedding? Well, now that you have, don't you think it makes a nice wedding color? Paired with yellow, gold or even a pale blue-green, we are loving the softness, or "rawness", of these colors together. Thanks, Burnett's Boards
, for the inspiration
Burnett's Boards writes: This pale (almost neon) yellow and salmon wedding inspiration board is a great color palette for either spring or summer weddings. When it all comes together like this the overall effect is a trendy pastel vibe that you really can’t go wrong with.
The colors in the bridal bouquet and the cake are reminiscent of a beautiful sunset and I’m also loving the striped motif in the picture of the bridal shoes and on the earrings!
We love these colors paired with Salmon - shabby chic and romantic!

This adorable couple from The Woodlands, Texas chose a bright green + yellow wedding at the Wildflower Barn just outside Austin. All the cute details - like the handmade desserts from Frost Bake Shoppe
- and the backdrop of wildflowers display the offbeat style of the couple. The wedding was photographed by Jennifer Weems Photography
Happy almost summer! By now, you probably know our obsession with Burnett's Boards
. The blog is a great, great - did we say great? - resource for new brides choosing their wedding color palette. And anyone looking for some unique wedding inspiration!
Today's color inspiration: bright spring/summer colors (think bright yellow, coral, orange and pink's.) We love how versatile this color palette is. Planning a fall wedding? Just add a little ruby red! Don't want it too bold? Soften it with pastels.

. These colors make me want to plant some bright-colored flowers in my garden.
Emily + Derek chose a springtime outdoor wedding at the beautiful Belle Rose Maison
venue in Conroe - with wedding photography by Amy Watson Photography
. The couple chose the theme of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with pastel colors throughout (just look at those bouquets!) and classy vintage decor. They also served guests a nice brunch that included farm raised egg omelets, fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes and fresh juice. The gorgeous cake completed the look and was created by one of our featured vendors, Dream Cakes
. Lots of ideas to take away from this one!

Every once and awhile, we like to share an out of state wedding on the blog that has caught our attention. La Vie le Gage Couture Wedding Planning
sent us this rustic ranch wedding, detailing their vision for it (and refers us to where they found each element, below!) The wedding took place at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch
in beautiful Larkspur, Colorado. The bride, Jenna, wanted the wedding to represent the "love of nature's beautiful colors and textures" with a modern twist, keeping with traditions. The couple, along with their wedding planner, decided on a color palette of Amazon Jungle, Dill, Mustard Seed, Walnut Bark, and Elegant Lace - all colors of an aspen forest in autumn.
La Vie le Gage describes the details and style of the wedding: "The Bridesmaid dresses reflected the aspen leaf with the golden yellow color, Snap Dragon, from the Dessy Collection. The groomsmen wore classic tuxes with just a hint of a custom camouflage fabric in the handkerchief pocket, which brought the color palette out with style!
The decor included a combination of rustic and elegant elements that included silver, crystal, glass, fabric, wood, candles, unique props and much more to convey the warmth of both styles. Jenna also incorporated some DIY projects to reflect her personal touch - using dark green river rock as place cards and designing the candy table for her guests."
We personally love the wooden touches and the oversized centerpieces. Yellow is a lovely color choice for a rustic/woodlands style wedding - whether it's in the fall, spring or summer. Props to the photog, Kim Nodurft Photography
, for the lovely images!

We love it when brides go traditional and choose to have a simply white wedding! This Cypress bride chose a beautiful white lace gown and a white vest + tie for her groom. For a pop of color, the couple chose red, yellow and orange floral. The little white elements - the white lace the bride's bouquet was wrapped in, her white ballet flats - gave the wedding of Bethany + Ben
a fresh and sincere look. The beautiful images by Jeremy & Kristin
captured all the sweetness of this wedding!

The adorable wedding of Lauren + Philip
centered around their love for baseball was definitely a grand slam wedding captured by a winning team; Maryanne of Memories by Maryanne Photography
hit this one out of the park. The details of their colorful, offbeat reception, held at Minute Maid Park
in downtown Houston, captured the spirit of America's favorite pastime - from the popcorn tossed at the couple as they exited to the baseball diamond used as a guestbook. Grab a bag of peanuts and continue scrolling.
The baseball field gave the couple an opportunity for super fun post-ceremony pictures. The beautiful historic lobby (old train station for downtown Houston) provided an elegant, columned backdrop for the rest of the evening. How stunning!
The details make this wedding so sweet and the memories special. This one is definitely pin-worthy and makes us ready for baseball season!
The color yellow has been on my mind this week. Maybe it's because of the beautiful Monday wedding
we shared or breathtaking bridals we posted on Tuesday
. Of course, it could be because the sun is shining down on The Woodlands, Texas right now and being outside just makes my heart sing!
In keeping with our sunny theme, here is a round of my 8 favorite yellow bouquets from the blogosphere this week. Be sure to visit the blog to see the rest of these gorgeous weddings!
