Gorgeous is a complete understatement to describe this adorable style shoot with a distinct "woodlands" theme. It's overflowing with DIY ideas for a forest-inspired wedding by Amanda Lloyd. The models and photographers braved crazy weather in Skykomish, Washington.

With Father's Day right around the corner, we have a very sweet idea for you courtesy of Joice Ruffing PHotography. It is a special way to honor the unsung hero of the whole wedding (the one who usually foots the bill!), the father of the bride. 

This is a special way to signify to your dad that he was your first love and will always have a special place in your heart. 

You will need: Scissors, Needle, Thread, An Old Blue Shirt from Your Dad
Step 1: Have your mom snip out a little heart from one of your dad's old shirts. We love a blue shirt for this idea, of course!

Step 2: Hand-stitch the heart to the inside front of your dress. (Close to your heart, of course!)

And last but not least, you have a wonderful way of honoring your dad on your big day! And Happy Father's Day to our dear readers' dads!

The Peruvian lily, also known as Alstroemeria, is a versatile wedding flower. While it usually plays backup singer to larger flowers in a bouquet, its unique shadings and vast color options make it pack just as big of a visual punch. Nothing like a good wedding chick flick. You gather up your girlfriends and head over to the local theater for a good laugh, and maybe even cry. You know the drama is exaggerated and could never happen in real life. Or could it?

Today's guest post comes from writer Roger Kethcart. He gives us a humorous yet practical look at wedding drama or "bride wars" and how to avoid or deal with them. Because sometimes our own life events play out like a Hollywood movie.

Tips for avoiding a real life "Bride War" situation

No bride wants to deal with drama on her wedding day or while she's planning her big day. Every bride needs a maid of honor, best friend or sister to count on, but sometimes, feelings get in the way. Whether you're the bride, the maid of honor or sister of the bride, you can take some cues from movie weddings to hopefully avoid, or perhaps deal with a bride war situation of your own. Learn from the wedding mistakes and disasters of these movies on cable TV to keep your own wedding blissful, and leave the bride wars on the big screen.

The dilemma: You and your best friend/sister/acquaintance get engaged around the same time and choose close wedding dates.

From the movies: Bride Wars delivers an all-out battle between two best friends who are getting married at the same time and have always dreamt of the same wedding – a ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in NYC in June. All is well until their weddings are accidentally scheduled for the same day – that's when the battle begins, and it ends with the two fighting in their wedding dresses in the middle of the aisle.

How to deal with it: With any luck, your wedding won't fall around the same month, week or day as your best friend or sister. If it does, consider your reasons for choosing those dates – is it more significant to one couple than the other? See if it's possible for one or both of you to switch up your date in the early planning stages. 

The dilemma: Your friend is planning your dream wedding for herself and you're not even close to walking down the aisle yourself – or you're planning your dream wedding and your friend is jealous.

From the movies: Among the other wedding-related disasters in Bachelorette, the big dilemma here is the jealously among these friends. When the friends were in high school, they picked on Becky (played by Rebel Wilson) who thought the four were all best friends. Now that Becky is the first of the group to get married, Regan (played by Kirsten Dunst) has bitterly agreed to be a part of the wedding.

How to deal with it: Remember that the wedding day is all about the bride, even if you think your day should have come first. Don't be that friend who ruins the day for another friend. Remember to be happy for the bride – your day will come! If you're the bride dealing with envious friends, sit them down and talk it out to keep the situation from getting worse.

The dilemma: Your younger sister is getting married first.

From the movies: Hollywood movies love to pit family members against each other, and wedding wars are no exception. In movies like 27 Dresses and When in Rome, the main character's younger sister is getting married first, leaving the star of the film to question her own life.

How to deal with it: Again, remember that the day is probably the biggest day of the bride's life so far and you don't want to taint a lifetime of memories with your younger sister just because she's getting married first. Like in these movies, things turn out okay for the older sister, and the same can happen for you.

Keep the lines of communication open if you know there may be an issue. Don't let a real life bride war happen to you, and don't be these dramatic girls from the movies. Keep these tips in mind for a happy wedding day whether you're the bride or not.
