Have you seen The Great Gatsby yet? The vintage elegance of the Roaring 20s is inspiring many brides to "go Gatsby" for their wedding inspiration. I've pulled some of my favorite elements inspired by the book and movie for today's post.

The engagement session of Laura + Joshua by Christine Gosch incorporates all the sweet things in life - sunshine, yummy treats and pretty lace. Love was definitely in the air during this photo shoot, with even a hint of red. (Don't those cherries look delish?)

The moment I laid eyes on Darlyne Miller's Top O' The Hill barn, I was smitten. The gorgeous views and fun, rustic elements definitely warmed this country girl's heart. So, of course, I jumped at the idea of getting to be a part of this gorgeous style shoot!

We have a new color crush - peach and teal! These colors are so unexpected and fresh! We came across this inspiration board while stalking Burnett's Boards blog (which has amazing, daily wedding inspiration.) Easily incorporate a little gold or green, rustic or modern details - the ideas are endless. Burnett's Boards writes:

This peach and teal wedding inspiration board is a match made in heaven. It has a slight vintage vibe because of the antique gold touches and vintage books so it would look amazing for an early fall wedding. Along with your peach and teal palette add crisp clean whites and hints of blush to pull it all together!

Esther + AyoKunle were married in a Nigerian wedding held at La Torretta on Lake Conroe. Wedding Fanatics! sent us their wedding day video and had this to say about the couple:

"The wind and rain couldn’t dampen the beauty of this very special wedding. Held at La Torretta on Lake Conroe, Esther and AyoKunle’s wedding was spiritual, sweet and fun. Nigerian weddings are so vibrant, both visually and emotionally, and we were thrilled to experience and capture this couple’s special day on film."

Emily + Derek chose a springtime outdoor wedding at the beautiful Belle Rose Maison venue in Conroe - with wedding photography by Amy Watson Photography. The couple chose the theme of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with pastel colors throughout (just look at those bouquets!) and classy vintage decor. They also served guests a nice brunch that included farm raised egg omelets, fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes and fresh juice. The gorgeous cake completed the look and was created by one of our featured vendors, Dream Cakes. Lots of ideas to take away from this one!

Today, we are sharing forsythia with you. It is a lovely, sunny yellow plant that is a great way to add height to an arrangement. They also have a great woodsy stem which is great if you are going for that rustic look.

What a treat we have for you on the blog today! Marilyn Duvall Photography sent us this gorgeous local photo shoot and her vision behind it. She wanted to go back in time and shoot "something very timeless and romantic" (think old telephone booth). Her subject: Jason + Katie Lamb. (You probably recognize this name!) The sparkly dress, pin curled hair, and red lipstick - what a glamorous and classy session! And an easy subject to shoot.

We adore this engagement session by CivicPhotos - it's modern, fresh and offbeat. The couple posed in front of a cool restaurant overlooking Clear Lake. Then later, captured some lovely shots at the local marina. The couple had fun with some props - like wooden signs and hula hoops. We love CivicPhotos' ability to find the most unique spots around the Houston area for photo sessions!
